Can applaud connect to Epic?

YesReady: automatic connection

How it connects

Best way

Connects automatically

Epic sends each visit to applaud as it happens. Nothing for your team to do day to day.

Epic HL7v2 outgoing interface (ADT / Appointment Scheduling) pushed to applaud over HTTPS

Connects automatically: Epic

  1. applaud gives the Epic organization an HTTPS endpoint that accepts HL7v2 over HTTP (HAPI), its auth choice (custom header or OAuth 2.0 client credentials) and filter criteria: completed or checked-out visits in the chosen departments.
  2. The organization's interface team builds an Outgoing Patient Administration (ADT) or Outgoing Appointment Scheduling feed, usually through its interface engine, and licenses the interface with Epic if needed.
  3. applaud parses the patient name and phone from each message, drops everything clinical and posts to the intake API.
  4. Confirm with the organization which field carries the mobile number in its build.

Option 2

Connects through a script on your server

We install a small script on the computer that runs Epic. It sends each visit to applaud automatically.

Scheduled Epic report extract (Clarity / Reporting) delivered to applaud

Connects through a script on your server: Epic

  1. The Epic organization's BI team writes a report of completed visits with first name and mobile (on Clarity, Epic's separate reporting database) and schedules delivery to applaud, daily or up to a couple of times an hour.
  2. Alternatively applaud licenses Kit or Clarity through Epic Vendor Services and supplies the SQL itself.
  3. applaud ingests the file and posts each patient to the intake API.

Option 3

Connects through a partner tool

A connector tool links Epic to applaud.

Redox relaying an Epic organization's HL7v2 or API feed

Connects through a partner tool: Epic

  1. applaud contracts with Redox and sets up an applaud destination (webhook).
  2. The Epic organization connects its HL7v2 feed (or API access) to Redox.
  3. Redox normalises visit and patient data and pushes it to applaud.

Option 4

Upload to applaud

Import a spreadsheet of recent patients in your applaud portal, or add them by hand. Works with any system.

CSV import or add patients by hand, in your applaud portal

Upload to applaud: Epic

  1. Export your recent patients from Epic as a spreadsheet: first name and mobile number are all we need.
  2. In your applaud portal, open Patients and choose Import CSV, or add patients one at a time.
  3. That's it. applaud takes it from there.
