  1. applaud registers once as a Certified FHIR API vendor in ModMed's vendor dashboard and creates a Bulk FHIR app, asking only for system/Patient.rs and system/Encounter.rs. The vendor's own example requests every clinical scope, so whether MMI enables a narrowed app is unconfirmed (email synapsys@modmed.com). Read the Certified FHIR API Terms of Use first: that page was blocked to automated reading on 2026-10-01.
  2. Each practice's Admin adds applaud's ClientID under Admin > Manage Bulk FHIR (one time); the app then shows Enabled for that practice. Practice FHIR base URLs are public.
  3. Daily, applaud searches Encounter (status finished, date since the last run), reads each Patient for first name and phone, and posts to the intake API. Never call Patient/$export or $export: they return the whole USCDI clinical data set.

Connects through a partner tool

A connector tool links ModMed to applaud.

Keragon: Encounter created or updated

Connects through a partner tool: ModMed

  1. The practice opens a Keragon account (BAA included) and connects ModMed with the credentials ModMed issues.
  2. Trigger: Encounter created or updated, filtered to completed visits.
  3. Action: Keragon's HTTP request action posts first name and mobile to https://applaud.you/api/v1/contacts with the practice's applaud key (the HTTP action's help article returned HTTP 403 today, so this step is not confirmed from Keragon's docs).

Upload to applaud

Import a spreadsheet of recent patients in your applaud portal, or add them by hand. Works with any system.

Upload to applaud: ModMed

  1. Export your recent patients from ModMed as a spreadsheet: first name and mobile number are all we need.
  2. In your applaud portal, open Patients and choose Import CSV, or add patients one at a time.
  3. That's it. applaud takes it from there.
