Can applaud connect to EMA (ModMed)?

YesReady: automatic connection

How it connects

Best way

Connects automatically

EMA (ModMed) sends each visit to applaud as it happens. Nothing for your team to do day to day.

ModMed Certified FHIR R4 (g)(10) API: Bulk FHIR backend app, polled

Connects automatically: EMA (ModMed)

  1. applaud registers a Bulk FHIR (backend) app on ModMed's Certified FHIR vendor dashboard with a JWKS public key (ES384) and scopes system/Patient.rs and system/Encounter.rs only.
  2. The practice's EMA admin adds applaud's ClientId to the practice once; applaud finds the practice's own FHIR base URL in ModMed's public endpoint directory.
  3. applaud gets a client_credentials token (private_key_jwt) and polls Encounter?date=ge{yesterday}&status=finished every few minutes, or runs a daily $export?_type=Patient,Encounter&_since={last run}.
  4. For each finished encounter read Patient for given name, family name and the mobile telecom; drop every clinical field; POST to the applaud intake API.

Other ways, in order

Option 2

Connects by export

Recent patients are exported from EMA (ModMed) and uploaded to applaud. A couple of minutes, and we can set it up with you.

EHI export (CSV, all patients) via a ModMed support case

Connects by export: EMA (ModMed)

  1. The practice opens a support case with ModMed (Support@modmed.com) for the all-patient EHI export.
  2. From the CSV files keep only first name, last name, mobile, email and last visit date, then upload to applaud Contacts.
  3. Not a daily route: it is a whole-database export on request.

Option 3

Connects through a partner tool

A connector tool links EMA (ModMed) to applaud.

Keragon: ModMed 'Encounter created or updated' trigger

Connects through a partner tool: EMA (ModMed)

  1. The practice obtains ModMed API credentials for the Keragon connection (applaud's notes: requested via practicesolutions@modmed.com) and connects ModMed in Keragon.
  2. Build a workflow on 'Encounter created or updated', filter to status finished, look up the patient, and send first name, mobile, last name, email and visit date to the applaud intake API with an HTTP step.
  3. Sign Keragon's BAA (included on paid plans).
