ModMed Practice Management sends each visit to applaud as it happens. Nothing for your team to do day to day.

ModMed Certified FHIR R4 (g)(10) API: Bulk FHIR backend app, polled for finished visits

Connects automatically: ModMed Practice Management

  1. applaud registers a Bulk FHIR (backend) app on ModMed's self-service Certified FHIR vendor dashboard with a JWKS public key, requesting only system/Patient.rs and system/Encounter.rs.
  2. The practice's ModMed admin adds applaud's ClientId to the practice once; applaud finds the practice's own FHIR base URL in ModMed's public endpoint directory.
  3. applaud gets a client_credentials token (private_key_jwt, ES384) and polls Encounter?date=ge{yesterday}&status=finished every few minutes, or runs a daily $export?_type=Patient,Encounter&_since={last run}.
  4. For each finished visit applaud reads Patient for first name, last name and the mobile, drops every clinical field and posts to the applaud intake API.
  5. Fits ModMed PM practices that chart in EMA (the usual pairing). The certified API has no Appointment resource, so it gives finished encounters, not the PM 'Checked-Out' status.

  1. The practice obtains ModMed API credentials for the Keragon connection (applaud's notes: via practicesolutions@modmed.com) and connects ModMed in Keragon.
  2. Workflow: 'Appointment updated' → filter status = fulfilled (ModMed PM Checked-Out) → look up the patient → HTTP POST first name, mobile, last name, email and appointment date to the applaud intake API.
  3. Sign Keragon's BAA (included on paid plans).

Upload to applaud

Import a spreadsheet of recent patients in your applaud portal, or add them by hand. Works with any system.

Upload to applaud: ModMed Practice Management

  1. Export your recent patients from ModMed Practice Management as a spreadsheet: first name and mobile number are all we need.
  2. In your applaud portal, open Patients and choose Import CSV, or add patients one at a time.
  3. That's it. applaud takes it from there.
